Knowmad Plus

How do I restore my Knowmad Plus purchase?

Open Settings in Knowmad and tap the Knowmad Free card at the top to open the Knowmad Plus screen, then tap Restore. Use the same Apple Account you used to subscribe.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. In Knowmad, open Settings and tap Manage Subscription. You can also open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. See Apple's guide: If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What happens when Knowmad Plus ends?

Nothing you made is deleted, hidden or locked. You can keep reading every book and studying and editing every flashcard and word. Adding more than 3 books, 50 flashcards or 50 saved words needs Plus.

What counts toward the free limits?

Each book in your library, each flashcard and each saved word. Deleting one frees its place. A word saved with both a definition and a translation counts once, and marking words as known is free and has no limit. Flashcards from a book you removed still count until you delete them in Settings → Flashcards.

Books and sync

How do I import a book?

In the library, tap Add Book and choose one or more PDF files. You can also share a file to Knowmad from another app. Books can be stored in your iCloud or only on your device. No book at hand? OpenStax (openstax.org) offers free textbooks as PDF files you can download and import. Read more in How it works.

Can I see my books in the Files app?

No. Knowmad keeps your books in its own folder, in your iCloud or on the device, and the Files app doesn't show that folder. Open, move and delete books in Knowmad.

My books or flashcards don't appear on my other device.

Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, that iCloud Drive is on, and that there is free iCloud storage. In Knowmad, Settings → Synchronization shows whether iCloud is available. iOS decides when sync runs, so changes can take a few minutes to appear.

How do I free up space on my device?

Open Settings → Synchronization → Free Up Space. Downloaded copies are removed from this device and stay in iCloud; a book downloads again when you open it.

Your data

I'm moving to a different iCloud account, or I don't use iCloud. How do I keep my flashcards and words?

Open Settings → Backup and tap Export Backup. It saves your flashcards, saved words and known words to one file. On the other account or device, open Settings → Backup, tap Import Backup and choose the file. Importing only adds items and never replaces what you already have. Books are not included, so add them again with Add Book.

How do I delete my data?

Delete books, folders, flashcards and words inside Knowmad. To delete every book from iCloud, open Settings → Synchronization → Delete All Books from iCloud. To remove all of Knowmad's iCloud data, use the iCloud storage settings in the Settings app on your device. We don't hold a copy of your data. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I turn off analytics?

Open Settings → Privacy and turn off Share Anonymous Analytics.

Problems

Definitions or AI suggestions don't appear.

In Knowmad, open Settings → Apple Intelligence to see its status. If it says Off in iOS Settings, tap Open Settings and turn on Apple Intelligence under Apple Intelligence & Siri. If it says Preparing, wait until it says Ready. If it says Not Supported, or Apple Intelligence doesn't support your book's language, add your own key in Connect Your AI. Translations work on the device without AI.

I can't select text in a book.

The book is probably a scan: its pages are pictures, with no text to select. You can still tap Crop to make flashcards from parts of a page.

How do I report a bug?

In Knowmad, open Settings → Support & Feedback → Report a Bug. The app prepares an email with technical logs attached. Logs never include what you read, and nothing is sent until you send the email yourself.

AI features say there is a problem with my provider.
